Lot of 3 drawings by Mauldin, mostly ink on artboard. The first is a Willie and Joe cartoon, with the 2 in a foxhole in the rain. The caption reads, `Now that ya mention it, Joe, it does sound like th` patter of rain on a tin roof.` The second is a more serious view of bedraggled and injured soldiers in the streets of a European town with the caption, ``Fresh, spirited American troops, flushed with victory, are bringing in thousands of hungry, ragged battle-weary prisonersÂ…` (News item)`. The third is a Mauldin `classic,` with two rather well-fed-looking soldiers standing on a mountain with the caption, `Beautiful view. Is there one for enlisted men?` This one outlined in ink, with crayon fill. All three show some edge toning, not affecting images, else VG.
