BILTMORE BSR MODEL#816 STEREO RECORD PLAYER CHANGER PHONOGRAPH This automatic stereo record player was one of the first to feature solid-state circuitry. For those of us who remember tube operated amplifiers it meant no more waiting for the units to Â"warm upÂ" before you could use them. Anyhoo, this model was manufactured around 1962. Primarily constructed of particle-paper-covered wood and metal, this is a great example of what true quality and workmanship used to be (before all the plastic models came to be the norm). ItÂ's in perfect operating order and has some very nice sound to it. T were some tears in the paper and t, but luckily I had some extra particle-paper (not sure if thatÂ's the correct name) to make repairs. It looks good to me, but thatÂ's just my opinion. Have a look at the pics and decide for yourself. But before you do please read the rest of the auction so you know exactly what youÂ're getting Â... As I do with all of my treasured phonographs, IÂ've completely cleaned and detailed this stereo inside and out . All of the mechanical parts have been properly cleaned, adjusted, re-greased and/or lubricated , so itÂ's in good-as-new operation and all control knobs are clean and static-free . Also, NEW needles have been installed on the Varco flip-over cartridge. One side of the cartridge has a needle tip that plays albums and 45Â's and the other side has a needle tip dedicated for playing 78Â's. The old shellac 78rpm records sound awesome on this unit! Information on w to obtain replacement needles will be included.
