Being offered on this auction is Girl Figurine made by Bing & Grøndahl of Copenhagen , Denmark . This is B&G Figurine # 2316 called " Girl With Puppy". It features adorable child playing with her little friend. Girl is shown in her blue blouse and white skirt. Her shoes are in brown. Dog is white with brown spots. This looks splendid and very cute. Sculptor Vita Birgitte Thymann (b. 1925) designed this figurine. She was working for Bing & Grondahl for many years and was a creator of many cute children figures. Most known of them are this one and ‘The Little Hairdresser’.

Bing & Grondahl (B&G) was founded in 1853 and existed until 1987, when Royal Copenhagen merged with Bing and Grondahl. B & G, Bing & Grondahl refer to the founders: Fred. Vilh. Grøndahl (1819-1856), technical director; the brothers M.H. Bing (1819 - 1883) and J.H. Bing (1811 -1896) as economical directors. This figurine is marked with three towers in green. This hallmark comes from the City Coat of Arms of Copenhagen. ‘B&G’ printed below the tower in green, ‘Copenhagen Porcelain’ printed in green semi-circle and ‘Made in Denmark’ identify production of 1970-1983 . T is also figurine number and production artist initial ‘E’ in green. We do not know the name of this painter. This figurine is still in production as Royal Copenhagen number 477.

Figurine measures about 3 ½�€ x 2 ¼�€ and stands about 5 ¼�€ (13 cm) tall. Condition is immaculate with no chips or cracks found. Colors are bright and vibrant. Please look at the pictures in our viewer to find out more about this piece.
