BISQUE SHELL BOAT WITH CHERUB AND WOMAN

This is a lovely porcelain/bisque allegorical figurine of a woman and a cherub riding in a shell boat pulled by a white bird. All the figures are delicately tinted and are typical of the Victorian era statuary. Even though this item is unmarked, I am positive it was made in Germany as it was in my German grandmother's home for decades, and she had similar items from the "old country." The measurements for this piece are: an oval base of 4.5 in. wide x 8 in. long; height, 8 in.; length, 9 in.; and width, 5 in. As you can see from the photos, this fragile piece is in very good condition with the exception of the woman's left hand w the middle fingers have been chipped off. This flaw can be repaired as it had been restored once before. Multiple moves are not always kind to these items despite careful packing. Please e-mail me with any questions.
