This is a folding chair with advertising set into the back for "Niggerhair smoking Tobacco. It says Smoke or Chew on the sides of the face. It also says in small letters "Registered in Patent Office April 3, 1878. This chair is in good structural condition with no breaks or splits in the wood. The seat has a green mohair? upholstery as does the back of the chair which has the advertising inset. I beleive the advertising is made of wood and has some age staining . Around the upholstery on both top and bottom is black stripping held on with tacks. Two tacks are missing in the seat, and one is missing on the top, and also a two inch strip of stripping is missing on bottom center of top. The upholstery is in pretty good shape with no holes.
