Up for auction is an occupied Japan wind up toy. This item can be seen in Jan Lindenberger's "Black Memorabilia Around the House" book on page 133. The top of the corner post is missing on my toy but everything else is complete. The body, hands, cane, & dancing platform are all made of tin. According to the description in the book his head is celluloid. His hat is also celluloid but I am not sure of the feet they are a little thicker hard plastic. His key is a little rusty but it does wind. After winding he does not dance on his own but will dance for you & twirl his cane while you turn the key slowly in the opposite direction of the wind up. His face is pushed in slightly at his nose & left eye. Everything is original with no touch ups from his clothes to the paint. Marked on the back side of his dance platform MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN PATENT NO.15139 DESIGN PATENT NO.92497 Some one has marked on the bottom in smaller letters with black magic marker $100. He stands 7" tall & the dance platform is 2 7/8" by 2 ¾" rectangle. Insurance is a must on this item . I am describing this image as exact as possible. If I have missed something please be sure to bring it to my attention so it may be corrected. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. I will be happy to combined items to save the winning bidder money on shipment. Be sure
