This is a rare hand carved Black Forest deer head from around 1910 with a nice rack of real Fallow deer antlers. The carvings are exquisite, extremely detailed and life-like. The eyes are made of glass. The plaque is approximately 13 inches tall and 11 inches wide, and the antlers are 22 inches wide at their widest. The depth of the plaque is about 14.5 inches from the nose to the rear of the plaque. Correction. This auction is for a PAIR. Two deer heads are included in this auction. The second deer head (whose pictures have also been uploaded) has real Fallow deer antlers that are about 27 inches wide at their widest and the plaque the head is mounted to is 13 inches tall by 10.5 inches wide.
