is another top quality fossil you have to love,a 3 5/8" long x 3" wide Megalodon carcharodon extinct shark tooth that is just unreal. The serration's are incredibly preserved on the tooth from over 5 million year's ago as well as the enamel that almost does look like the paint on a rolls-royce.The tooth has a beautiful full bourlette. Some people say they don't really know what a bourlette is t for, personally I think it served as a friction plate to cushion the massive power on biteing for these huge shark's that once swam the earth. The root on the tooth is like nothing I have seen in a while and the best part, it was just found not to long ago in deep muddy water's in a georgia river. The black color of the fossil came from being fossilized in manganese oxides that were and are present in that layer of ocean were they find these teeth that sat t for all that time.the tip is intact as you see.The Megalodon that stand's for "big tooth" was an ancestor of the Great white shark.Question's? Thank's for veiwing. Free stand included
