Black Ryden's parent company, Moorcroft, now has its 2008 catalog now out, and it is evident that they found Black Ryden shapes to be useful and beautiful shapes to use. Many of the new pieces are using these shapes, in fact, the new range Fleur-De-Luce consists entirely of Black Ryden shapes. Perhaps as these become more popular over the years the Black Ryden pieces w they originated will become even more collectable. I have had questions about the difference between Black Ryden and Moorcroft pieces. Black Ryden uses sgraffitto, which is incised grooves into the vase surface, was most Moorcroft uses tube-lining, which is raised lines on the surface. This auction is for a Trial vase on an R35/8 shape, being about 8 inches tall. It is by Anita Harris and I'm calling it Abstract because I don't know its actual design name. Included with this vase is the original matching signed watercolor by Anita Harris. Only the painting on the left matches of course, the one on the right was never produced as far as I know. It is a first quality vase, in mint shape with neither red dot nor silver line. Sorry, no boxes for any of my trials. Given trials rarity, my starting prices are going to be higher than the range pieces, as I paid a lot for these myself years ago. Please continue to check Black Ryden listings as I will be adding more pieces weekly. Thanks for looking!
