BLACK SANTA CLARA PUEBLO POTTERY SIGNED BY NATIVE AMERICAN ARTIST: BIRDELL C. BOURDON This traditional black Santa Clara Pottery is signed by artist Birdell C. Bourdon, "Vine Flower." This vase measures approximately 3" diameter x 2.5" tall. The black pottery bowl has an elegant stone polished finish. Bourdon creates authentic native american pottery that is hand coiled, sanded, slip applied, stone polished, and then pit-fired naturally outside. The color is fused into the pottery. Bourdon was born in 1957 and has been creating pottery since 1967. She is self taught by watching her mother. Her parents are Andy and Marie (Sisneros) Askan. She has also passed on her talents to her children. Bourdon has been featured in several books and is a well known Santa Clara artist.
