Side Drummer of 'The BlackWatch' in Parade Dress, he wears the dark 'Government' tartan andbearskin with the world renowned Red Hackle. The detail is so good on this design that you can actually read the Black Watch battle honours on the drum emblazon ! Figure is completely designed, hand made and hand painted in Walkerburn, Scotland. These are no doubt the finest military sculptures available. US Military bases carry these products in the US Military range. The Scottish regimental figures are hard to find available outside of the UK and are available at the Regimental museums. As you can clearly see, the detail and the painting is incredible. I have personally watched them paint these figures, and to see them paint the kilts, badges and especially the drums are breathtaking. these figures sell for $ 350.00 each and are 11 inches tall. These figures are new and all I have left in the regimental series. Each piece comes with a Regimental history, and mounted on a base. Ballantynes of Walkerburn's History In 1989 the founder of the company (Neil Ballantyne) left the British Army (w he had been serving as a Captain in the Parachute Regiment) and undertook the task of fundraising for 'Para 90', which commemorated the 50th anniversary of the founding of the British Airborne Forces. One of the commemorative designs was a bronze figurine of a Modern British Paratrooper. Due to supply problems, and the popularity of the design, orders for the figurine were soon backing up alarmingly. Having exhausted other potential manufacturers, it became clear someone had to learn the skills required to actually make the figurines to meet the immediate demand.During the summer months of 1990 Neil mastered how to make the molds and the basics of manufacture.
