By Blaeu Published 1967, 300th anniversary limited edition 449/1000 , Theatrum Orbis Terrarum I bought this 12 volume reproduction new upon its printing in 1967. This collection has been shelved in my library since. I have barely looked through these and subsequently these are in extremely fine, near-mint condition. This is number 449/1000 in the first edition printing. Fine facsimile edition copy of the first French edition of Blaeu's Atlas Maior in 12 folio volumes with about 600 large, mostly double-page maps. Weighs over 220 pounds. Three sellers on abebooks are offering this for $4200-$5600. The last auction record I found of this is from 2008 at Christie's for $3000 /LotFinder/lot_details.aspx?intObjectID=5084049 Size: 55 x 34 cm Condition: Near-Mint About The Seller I have been a map collector for over 40 years and am one of the founders and am currently president emeritus of the New York Map Society, which has its home at the New York Public Library on 42nd Street and Fifth Avenue . After all these years of collecting, I have decided to sell my personal collection of antiquarian cartographic pieces, primarily maps and atlases.
