Blakeman Henderson B & H Limoges France Iris Bowl Luc c. 1900 Hand painted Iris Flowers Artist Signed Luc This exquisite LIMOGES bowl is a wonderful example of Blakeman & Henderson ( B. & H. )Limoges France c. 1900. It measures 10 1/4 inches across and stands 2 " tall. It has a fabulous hand painted design of irises on a blush and light green back ground. This expertly handpainted bowl conveys unique and rare talents of the well-known listed French Limoges artist , Luc . It is in fact, signed, Luc, in the lower right hand corner. Luc was a highly sought after talent. He was a freelance artist that painted for many of the famous Limoges companies. His artistic visions have been treasured by collector's world wide. He painted not only for the Blakeman & Henderson Co., but also George Borgefeldt(coronet), Coiffe, Flambeau China Co., A. Lanternier and other fine Limoges Companies & Studios. Many of his works are catalogued in the Gaston series. His talents are hard to come by and in this treasured condition. His works are found from the 1890's to the turn of the century...around 1900. The decorating method is an important factor in determining value.
