I am pleased to offer this early #7 BLICKENSDERFER TYPEWRITER from STAMFORD, CT. It comes complete in an oak wooden case. There is a little wear of the paint on the black space bar , but the letters are all clear and easily identifiable. The shield type insignia is on the front and can be easily read. All of the keys move readily, but I don't think the round cylinder with the letters on it is turning. There is hardly any rust on it, but the metal would need cleaned and it is fairly dusty. The silver tag on the side has a list of patent dates with the latest at 1892. The serial number on the back is 72623. Both of the latches are attached on the sides and work well. There are two metal bars on the front of the case through which a leather strap was probably placed. The oak floor under the typewriter is a beautiful rich oak. It does have a chip out of the wood on the right side. The lid is also a rich oak and has the name "Blickensderfer" in gold which is not worn and easy to see and read. There are a few scratches on the lid and floor, but they could probably be buffed out. The lid also has a piece of wood gone near the back right side. Let me say that I know next to nothing about these early typewriters, but will try to answer any questions you may have. You are buying it in "as is" condition.. .
