Vintage blown blob top soda water bottle.Aqua color,has more than average case wear
and some patina.No idea what company bottled contents. I found this bottle sitting high and dry in the sand during low tide off the old docks near the Bousch Cold Storage Building in downtown Norfolk,VA lots of years ago before area developed and on banks of the Elizabeth River.The blob top closure is called a John Matthews twist on stopper and on base of this thick glass soda bottle embossed Made By John Matthews Pat.June 11,1872 NY.Bottle aged as pics show and no breaks in glass. T's a few minor dinks on the bottom and one small dink on the edge of the blob top twist on stopper.Case wear does show-I've seen worse and it can use a better cleaning. Lying on the sand rolling along bottom of river does cause sandpapering so to speak. Could have been worse.T's also a small dink on top of lip.Bottle basically in fair to good condition.If you've wanted to collect one of these Matthews twist on stoppers at a reasonable pirce- it is.I am a careful packer and quick shipper so bid with confidence.My feedback rating speaks for itself.S&H $8.75 Priority or FedEx/UPS Ground-your preference.
