BLUE AND WHITE STONEWARE SALT HOLDER DESCRIPTION: Presented tonight is a blue and white stoneware BUTTER HOLDER from my personal collection. . It is decorated in the DAISY CLUSTER pattern. The crock has four clusters of daisies highlighted in deep blue coloring near the bottom of the crock. Inbetween the four clusters of daisies near the top of the crock are small cosmos flowers. The background is a diamond pattern. This piece appears never to have had a bail handle because on the sides w the lid would have attached, the holes are not pierced. The crock has a matching diamond patterned lid. An attractive piece at a great buy-it-now price. AGE: 1900 DIMENSIONS : Approximately 4 1/2" tall, 6" diameter. CONDITION: AS PICTURED , the butter holder has NO cracks, hairlines or repairs . It does have manufacturing flaws (glaze skips, stone pings, etc.) that are clearly visible in the pictures. Close examination reveals crazing indicative of age. As is common, the lid wiggles-not a tight fit, and the underside of the lid is chipped . GUARANTEED OLD .
