Up forauction today is this Rare 1900's DAYTON Antique 2 lb Candy Scale No 166 This is a beautiful Blue Dayton Gold Medal Candy Scale with brass accents. The dark blue paint is in excellent condition, small, very minor chips, here and there. Most are under the brass candy tray, when the tray is in place these can not even be seen. Some flaking on the large measurement panel on the back but all the numbers and measurements are still very clear. We have the round glass that goes in the recessed area on the back of the scale but the medal bracket that holds it on is missing, this does not effect the beauty of the scale or its functionality. On the front panel under the scales measurements it says: The Computing Scale Company Dayton Ohio U.S.A. Pat April 24 1900 May 19 1903 March 27 1906 On the engraved brass detail surrounding this area is says: Style No 166 Cap'y 2 LBS and the model number 530122 We would consider this scale to be in near mint to excellent condition.
