Authentic Maritime presents this genuine Antique Blue and Red , SOLID BRASS , GLASS lensed TRIPLEX Ship's Running Light with SOLID BRASS Burner (Oil Font) ***NO RESERVE!*** This is a wonderful, GENUINE TRIPLEX SHIP'S LANTERN made between 1913 and 1920 in the United States. The pictures speak for themselves. The lantern has not been polished recently but simply GLEAMS bright gold BRASS . It is a MASTHEAD LIGHT of 225 degrees (20 points). Dimensions are 10" tall (11" with hanger) by 5" in diameter. The front label states: "TRIPLEX, TRADE MARK: Lense Pat'd Dec, 20, 1910, Other pats pend." The back label states: "Patented, April 1st, 1913." The burner wick wheel says, "The National Lamp Co." The HEAVY FRESNEL lenses are made of VERY THICK GLASS and are in good condition free of cracks, having only bubbles and swirls from the molding process, and the rib chips as shown in photos 5 and 6. The BLUE glass lens is a most beautiful blue color! It would appear green from outside with the kerosene burner producing a yellow flame. The brass divider is removable. The lantern may have seen service as it has the top is pushed down very slightly. T are also 3 small dents less than 1/16" deep. Please examine photos carefully. The SOLID BRASS burner is in PERFECT condition and wick assembly screws in easily. Wick goes up and down correctly. Burner clips firmly into the bottom of lantern with two clips. The brass bottom door closes flawlessly and locks tightly. AUTHENTIC... NOT a cheap reproduction! (Beware when bidding on these "antique" lanterns, not to get stuck with a cheap reproduction made of thin wall "plated" brass, or lanterns with steel burners which often rust through.) This lantern has probably sailed the Seven Seas. It is a heavy little lantern with a fantastic patina. Terrific nautical item for the collector!
