Welcome to Doc's Crock's 9th Annual Christmas Sale . From now until Christmas I will be running a variety of stoneware, books, and collectibles. I have also been stocking my eBay store since July w you will find an additional 300 items that will be sure to please! is a wonderful Blue and White Stoneware Pitcher in the Girl and Dog Pattern. Each side features a medallion with a dog jumping up to greet a kneeling girl. This pattern is very rare and this example is even in spongeware which Taylor and Lowrance call "one degree beyond extremely rare" ( Salt Glaze Stoneware , p. 42). This is only the second one I have ever had to sell. Stands 9" tall. Very Good Condition. A 1/4" fleck at the base. Eight tiny 1/8" nibbles on the inside of the rim mainly toward the back and a 3/16" flake near the front. Glaze wear but no chip at the spout. That's it! No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or repairs.. A Blue and White Girl and Dog Pitcher in Spongeware in Very Good Condition.
