This is a set of toby willow pattern condiments called Prestonpans, from the town in Scotland from which they originate (they are not from Staffordshire as some people think). They are early 19th century and came in sets of four --salt, pepper, mustard and vinegar. This set contains just the salt, pepper and vinegar (complete with lid, which is quite rare). I do have a mustard, but it is missing it's original lid. I have made a replacement out of epoxy resin, but it is not painted yet ( I am a restorer). I will list it when it is, or if someone wants to buy it as existing, and paint it themselves (photo available on request), let me know and I will discuss a price. Condition :- The vinegar stopper is slightly paler than the base. Not a brilliant fit, but they never are. The top of the 'bottle' has had a piece out at some time which has been glued in quite successfully (not by me) and barely shows when on display or even when looking quite closely (see photos). The pepper seems to be totally OK as does the salt, although the salt is a brighter blue and the transfer is quite blurred.( Again see photos). I have put a small reserve on these as they are rare survivors .
