Up for bid is this CoLLeCTiBLe ~ BESSIE and the PIE BIRD Bob Carmack Pie Bird and Book GIFT SET © 2002 Rumbleseat Books This Collectible Gift Set comes with a 36 page book "Bessie and the Piebird" by Bill Jacobs. Grandma teaches Bessie how to use a pie bird. On the back cover of the book it reads: Rumbleseat TM books for children are produced by Converg, which specializes in bringing people together. Like their prototype on the roadsters of the 1920's and 1930's, the Rumbleseat TM books open at the back and are hinged at the bottom. And, like the cars, they include fun, adventure, and a fresh breeze. With the memories, we hope comes a little wisdom. So, open the rumbleseat, crawl in, and enjoy! On the base of the pie bird it reads © 2002 Rumbleseat Books. It measures 4 ¼" tall and is artist signed, dated, and numbered -- Robert Carmack, 2002, #49. ONLY 50 OF THESE PIE BIRDS HAVE BEEN MADE! After many years of creating ceramic figurines and Pie Birds, Bob Carmack must reluctantly shut down his shop entirely, and retire all of his birds. It seems that the work has contributed ceramic dust and acrylic paint fumes that have taken a toll on his lungs. Please pray for his health.
