OTHERWISE WHITE AND BRIGHT. THE VINYL STILL HAS SURFACE GLOSS BUT DOES HALF SEVERAL SCUFFS AND LIGHT SCRATCH MARKS ON BOTH SIDES ONE AND TWO THAT DO NOT AFFECT PLAY. If "The Times They Are A-Changin'" showcased the political and socially-conscious side of Dylan's "Freewheelin'" persona, "Another Side of Bob Dylan" returns to, well, the other one: the tongue-in-cheek romantic, the surrealist folk humorist and the man who makes himself laugh as he sings. But whereas "The Times..." saw Dylan expand on his familiar themes, adopting a different approach to politically-charged songwriting by penning story-based social commentary, here he sounds weary and, in hindsight, perhaps ready to move on. "All I Really Want to Do" is a promising start, featuring a vintage vocal performance, but the ensuing three tracks, despite some interesting aspects to them, ultimately add up to 12 minutes of blandness. "I Shall Be Free No. 10" breaks up the monotony by reverting to "Freewheelin'" style comic relief, but the similarly joking "Motorpsycho Nitemare" just invites unfavorable comparisons with the following album's "Bob Dylan's read more
