BOB MACKIE 1992 NEPTUNE FANTASY BARBIE Mint in Box 4th in the Bob Mackie Series item # 4248 Neptune Fantasy Barbie emerges from a mythic realm of ocean splendor, beautifully realized from Bob Mackie's bold vision. She is dramatically unique, from the teal colored streak in her hair to the rising sea flames that surround her head. The blues and greens of the sea provide the color theme of this superb gown and velvet coat which together become one sophisticated silhouette. "Silver" embroidery around the points of the sea flames of the coat collar define the design elegantly, while the blue and green sequins within the swirling rows of bugle beads shimmer like moonlight on the ocean. The rich velvet coat is fully lined and edged in a metallic teal fabric. Small crystal beads and teal bugle beads are sewn on the bias of the edging to recreate swirling waves. Flesh colored net, a Bob Mackie design signature, gives a bare look to the top of the gown, enhanced by some solitary beads and a bedazzling beaded sleeve and collar. Near the hemline of the coat, where the velvet falls open, sparkling sequins and beads are revealed from the gown beneath. No detail of his creation is too small to merit Mackie's attention. His design includes : jeweled earrings, distinctive face paint, and a bold, exotic hairstyle. Doll is in mint condition. read more
