About the Author Hockey Hall of Famer Bob Miller has been "Voice of the Los Angeles Kings" for 31 seasons, providing play-by-play for more than 2500 Kings games. He is a recipient of the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award, selected by the NHL Professional Broadcasters Association, recognizing members of the radio and television industries who have made outstanding contributions to their profession and the game of hockey in their careers.In addition, on February 4, 2002 Miller was inducted into the Southern California Sports Broadcasters Hall of Fame. In February of 2001, that organization named him the top television play-by-play announcer in Southern California sports, the second time he has won the award. Along with his duties for the Kings, Miller’s voice has accented numerous TV and film projects including Cheers, Rollerball, Miracle On Ice, The Mighty Ducks, and The Mighty Ducks 2.In 1997, Miller, a native of Chicago, Illinois, was selected as one of the six inaugural members of the Kings Hall of Fame during the organization’s 30th-Anniversary celebration.
