BOCH FRERES KERAMIS ART DECO VASE DESCRIPTION:This is an exceptional rare and top quality stoneware vase, made by Charles Catteau in 1930 for Boch Frères Keramis in La Louvière, Belgium. It has a beautiful polychrome decor with repetitive geometric minimaliste motifs. The vase is made in Grès , stoneware and very well done. The vase was designed and developed in the ' L'Atelier de Fantasie ', the art department of the Boch Frères Manufacture, by Catteau. This vase has been used as a model in the book Art Deco Ceramics, Made in Belgium, Charles Catteau of Marc Pairon, page 463and has also been exhibited on the exposition "Retrospective Charles Catteau" of Strépy-Thieu (B) in 2006. This beautifull geometric minimaliste vase is top Art Deco, very bright colours, blue was a new colour, in a moment in time where everything else was brown or grey. Charles Catteau had won several prices in the 1920's-1930's because it was he who invented the new bright ceramic coulours.
