Up for auction is a 1976 Edward Marshall Boehm Commemorative Plate for the 1976-1979 Egyptian Exhibition in the U.S. of the Treasures of Tutankhamun. This was a limited issue of 5,000 plates. The inscription on the back reads: "Egypt Salutes The United States' Bicentennial with the Exhibition of the Treasures of Tutankhamun 1976 --1979. Couresty of the Egyptian Museum, Cairo and six United States' Participating Museums." Under this is the Boehm trademark and "issue Limited to 5000" with what looks to be a small scarab and "Made in England". Below this is Tc 2a. Around the inner edge of the base of the plate are the names of the six participating museums: National Gallery, Washington; Field Museum, Chicago; New Orleans Museum of Art; Los Angeles County Museum; Seattle Art Museum; The Metropolitan Museum of Art. This plate comes in it's original box but does not have any of the original documents or packing.
