Designed and manufactured in the U.S.A. by the Boehm Porcelain artisan studio, commemorative and limited edition pieces were made to represent the famous collection of Egyptian antiquities found in Tutankhamun's tomb by English archaeologist and Egyptologist, Howard Carter in 1922. The Treasures of Tutankhamun is said to be one of "the most important and beautiful exhibition of ancient Egyptian art ever to come the United States" and the fifty-five items chosen for the exhibition was meant to give an "accurate image of the contents of the four rooms of the tomb: the Antechamber, the Burial Chamber, the Treasury, and the Annex". The exhibition was organized by the Metropolitan Museum of Art to run in six American museums from November 1976 to April 1979. The spectacular Treasures of Tutankhamun re-creations by Boehm will never be made again! The exquisite fine porcelain and endless attention to detail, that Boehm is famous for, is represented in each piece.Pleas Ask any questions and any requests for detailed pictures would be our pleasure to send.
