The Boeing B-17 was the primary heavy bomber used in the European Theater of Operation during WW II. Flying directly into the heart of enemy territory, many B-17 crews and aircraft sustained heavy losses and never completed the 25 mission fulfillment requirement. One B-17 and crew that did complete the 25 mission requirement was "The Memphis Belle", piloted by then Captain Robert C. Morgan! Captain Morgan made "The Memphis Belle" one of the most famous bombers in WW II by completing the 25 combat mission requirement and returning with the entire crew alive! The Memphis Belle flew from November 7 1942 until May 17 1943. The aircraft and crew were sent on various public relations tours after the 25 mission fulfillment and in later years books, documentaries and movies were made about the aircraft, crew and missions. Presented for purchase is a RARE, Impossible to Find BRAND NEW AUTOGRAPHED museum quality 1/54 scale model of the Memphis Belle!!!!!
