Boekenhout Jasper is a combination of Jasper and Quartz, named for the locality it is found. It is mined by the women of the Kwan Kwa Ndebele Mphumalanga tribe on whose tribal land the formation is located. This Jasper is the foundation upon which some Spirit Quartz has grown, developed and matured. You can see some of the Amethyst Crystals that cover this Jasper to make it Spirit Quartz on one of the tumbled stones. According to Melody in her new book, "Love is in the Earth - The Crystal and Mineral Encyclopedia - The Liite Fantastic and The Last Testament", "The occurrence of quartz crystals and quartz crystal structures within this jasper is very rare; the quartz crystal structures have been seen to occur in a state w the jasper, itself, has replaced part of the quartz crystal, leaving the outline of the quartz crystal; in some cases, the jasper has engulfed the crystals which were floating during upheaval and earth-changes providing for the entire structure of the quartz crystal to remain as a pattern within the mass. ...
