This helmet is not an antique but a fine British made copy of an origional piece.I bought the helmet twenty eight years ago at a gun and knife show. The person I bought it from had stacks of these wrapped in paper. After many questions about the helmet I was told by him that it was made by the same factory in England as the origional examples. He sold fine British militaria and had direct connections with manufacturers and dealers in Britain. This was good enough for me so I bought it for $70.00. This one was the largest size which he had.It is marked a size 7 1/4.I think the size of the helmet is larger because it fits me and I'm a 7 1/2.The size of the helmet is stamped on the helmets interrior dome in black ink.Like the origional the helmet is made of cork and the coverings and materials used are of fine quality and it is made to last.
