Antique Boericke and Tafel homeopathic remedy / apothecary set. Includes 41 square glass bottles with cork stoppers and a divided wood box. This is for collector and display use only. This is not to be used or consumed for medicinal value. One (1) larger bottle labeled for Arnica Tincture measures 3-1/4" x 1-1/8". It has raised glass BOERICKE & TAFEL on one side. The label location says: Laboratories at PHILADELPHIA, PA. (------- divider) CHICAGO 57 Wabash Avenue. Bottle is empty, but there is some residue / powder left inside. It looks like the cork leaked at some time. Forty (40) smaller bottles measuring 2" x 5/8". These have paper labels around the neck with a handwritten strength / dosage and typed names on the cork top. A few are empty, most are completely full of white to brownish beads or pellets. All bottles have a cork, but six corks are broken (two included), and four others do not have name on top. I broke one of the corks trying to remove it from the bottle. One of the smaller bottles (Arsenicum album) has a full label instead of just the neck ring. The bottle is near the center of the top row in picture #4. The location reads: BOERICKE & TAFEL, PHARMACISTS. 156 N. Wabash Ave. CHICAGO. (This is a different location / address than the larger bottle.) The box measures 8-1/3" x 3-1/4" x 4-1/2". It is divided into a 40-bottle grid and a purple felt-lined tray on the right side. The inside of the lid and the underside of the box have a textured black layer (I do not know what the material is). There is a keyhole, but there is no key and the lock mechanism appears to have been removed. It is not in excellent condition, but it is pretty nice for something so old. The wood shows some wear. There is some discoloring on the felt tray and oxidation on one of the hinges; probably from the leaking bottle. Due to past experiences, insurance and tracking/confirmation will be required for any Postal Service shipment (and might make the final shipping cost higher if the ebay calculator doesn't work).
