[zipedit] • Description • Very attractive vintage necklace with textured chain link circles, faux? baroque pearls, antiqued goldtone bead caps and shiny gold-tone/gold-plated ornate medallions with rose-cut garnet or garnet colored glass stones and faceted beads. I have a gemstone tester, but garnets test just above glass and this tests right at the edge of the two. This is a bit confusing to date. The style of chain, lack of clasp, very smooth finished back of medallions and rose-cut stones point to early 1900s through early 1940s, but the bead caps seem newer. Possibly a 70s reproduction, but I think it is much older. Hallmarks : None.
