Boleslawiec Polish Pottery Unikat signed and numbered all in one tea cup with loose tea diffuser/strainer and lid Very pretty blue, green, yellow and white hand painted blueberry/greenery print Piece is stamped with Unikat Boleslawiec Stamp, and is also signed and numbered This gorgeous piece holds 8 ounces and stands 4.25" tall with the strainer and lid, 3 7/8" tall without the insert and lid, and has a diameter of about 3". The diffuser itself is almost 2 1/2" tall Boleslawiec stoneware originated as folk art in the early 1800's It was crafted in the German province of Silesia, now a part of Poland (called Slask in Polish). Inspired by the peacock feather, farmers were instrumental in creating a statement of strength and beauty in each piece of their tableware. Today in a small village of Poland. skilled artisans still individually handcraft and hand paint each piece with the same pride and care used over a century ago, preserving the charm of Old Central Europe.
