This auction is for one new Fair Trade Bolga Basket. This basket is called the Bolga pot basket or gambibgo pot basket. It has a nice folding handle. These baskets are what we call the "premier" Ghana baskets. They have a finer weave and take longer to make. The colors wine, lavender and purple. Size: 12" diameter at the rim by 15" diameter in the middle by 10" tall not including handle height. We are proud to be a member of the Fair Trade Federation. Our website: has the Fair Trade logo displayed. Only members of the Fair Trade Federation can display that logo. Its an organization I am proud to be a part of. Fair Trade means the weavers get paid fairly for the work they do. It also ensures an avenue in which to sell their beautiful products. We are also a member of Green America. Every basket comes with a detailed flyer on the laborious process of making one of these beautiful baskets. The leather is braided as well giving the basket a beautiful finished look. The leather also has a nice uniform color and has been tanned to perfection. These baskets are made by the skilled weavers of Ghana, Africa. They take local grass through 6 steps to make this beautiful basket. The basket is strong and very durable. It can also be hosed down if it gets dirty or you need to reshape it.
