DubinThese are two really great books - thousands of wonderful photographs!From "Some Classic Trains":"... is a book about the sleeping and dining cars that suddenly changed overland travel from barbarous to opulent ... about the compounds and Pacifics and 4-8-4's that sliced hours and days our of the timetables ... about the amenities of going places, from mobile barbershops and libraries to gastronomic menus and wine cards ... and most of all about the Cascades and Centurys and Crescents that resulted when railroad kingdoms gave their carbuilders blank checks and were proud of their dining-car deficits."This book also includes two large color foldouts -- a Pullman Company advertising folder of a pullman car and its interior plus a foldout of the Oriental Limited of 1909. It's beautiful artwork and was prepared for distribution to eight-seers at the Seattle World Fair of 1909. They are very large and difficult to photograph unfortunately, but in perfect condition.From "More Classic Trains":"Here are more than 1500 photos, car floor plans, menus, timetable covers, and travel folders.
