IM-HO-TEP is ALIVE.........

What you are looking at is a museum quality 1/1 scale life-size bust based on the 1932 Universal film "The Mummy" starring Boris Karloff. This lifesize Karloff Mummy bust design was commissioned and built for a client. I ended up making a few more of these Mummy busts and am making this one available to the first bidder at a very good buy it now price.

To create this bust I started out with an actual life-mask of Karloff himself from the 1930's. I used Karloff's lifemask as a reference to get all facial proportions correct. I studied archive photos of Karloff and spent several weeks sculpting the Mummy make up over Karloff's face. I then made an entire head mold of Karloff as the Mummy and cast a few pieces. This cast is a very sturdy Hydrocal plaster and is not solid and heavy but a ½ inch plaster shell that is hollow inside. The base of the neck has a built in metal flange with metal screws so the bust will sit on top the pole on the base and swivel. The paint scheme is made up of browns, tans and grays and based on the coloration of the Karloff Mummy at the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. The neck even has real gauze bandages applied and left hanging down.... just for realism. The head weighs approximately 9 pounds and is 15 inches tall, 8 inches wide and 9 inches from front to back. This piece is mounted at a slight angle to look like the sleeping Mummy from the film, it's also a fantastic likeness of Karloff.

The base is an 8 x 7 x 1 inch piece of oak wood. The base has an Egyptian theme complete with an ancient papyrus print of the Gods Thor and Ra holding up the bust. The wood base has a sturdy metal gold colored flange with turquoise colored Egyptian scarab beetles, a turquoise colored MUMMY name plaque and turquoise accents painted all the way around the base. The bottom of the base has a photo of the Mummy and felt pads for protection and is signed and numbered by the artist. The head on this base can swivel and rotate so the bust can be displayed from the front or side etc. The entire base is aged, weatd and distressed to look like it was just escavated from the valley of the kings.

This is not a light weight rubber prop or mask but a very high quality museum piece of art and should sell for hundreds of dollars more. I wanted to make this piece affordable to most collectors so I kept the price at $299.99. From start to finish this piece takes several days to complete and for the price it's a very good deal that would be a high light to anyone's collection. Pictures don't do this piece justice and if you read my feedback's you'll see what people think of the quality of my work. Shipping, handling and full insurance is $25.00 in the U.S.A.

Let me know if your in another part of the world as shipping will be a little more. I only have a couple of these Boris Karloff Mummy busts left so if you want this piece just use the "Buy it now" feature before someone else does and they're gone. Paypal works best for me but I would accept a money order...
