She began painting and drawing animals as soon as she could hold a pencil, and was especially fascinated by dogs and horses. When Cindy was twelve, she traveled to India with her mother, an anthropology professor, w she lived for two years. The amazing variety of wildlife and the the intricate beauty of Indian art was an inspiration to her. After her return to the United States, she completed her first commission for the president of the Racking Horse Association at only 16 years of age.Cindy studied art at the University of Texas at Austin, and the realism and emotion in her artwork comes from observation as well as her feeling for animals. read more
