THE LIFE OF SAMUEL JOHNSON LL.D. by James Boswell, Esq. abridged introduction by Mowbray Morris Published in 3 volumes by Macmillan, London, 1900, reprinted from the 1893 Globe Edition. Prize binding in three-quarter red morocco with marbled boards, gilt titles and Ayr Academy badge in gilt to front board, top edge gilt; marbled endpapers with prize bookplate to paste down of vol.1. Condition: A couple of marks to the leather, a few scuffs to spines and edges, light toning to text, but overall an extremely presentable set of this classic biography.
