This book attempts to tell the story of the station and railway at Bournville, their part in the industrial and social development of the area, and their relationship with to the West Suburban Line in this small area of Birmingham. The book is a well-done short history ofthe railway that was an integral part of the Cadbury chocolate works at Bournville. The author provides full background on how and why Cadbury built its model community and how the railway supported the development of the community. The book forms a nice companion to ' The Railways of Cadbury and Bournville'.Card-covers, published in 1992 by Irwell Press, First Edition. 32 pages sthick, with some black and white photos, map of Bournville Works and Layout/Plan of Bournville Engine Shed, plus the odd Cadbury advert.
