WONDERFUL example of an early Bowie knife and antique sheath. The blade on this knife is older, dating 1860-90, with a stunning early style clip, and is a full .25 inch thick at the base. The blade appears forged - not cast steel like an English knife - very likely American and possibly earlier than dated. The knife is incredibly thick and sturdy all together!!! Measures 12.1 inch overall, with the killer 6.6 inch blade that is 1/4 inch thick.
