Bowser petrol pump in as found condition and as you can see will need a lot of work but I believe a rare example? When I acquired it some thirty years ago the handle turned and the indicator worked - alas whilst it has been in dry storage during all that time it now does not move! The two cylinders and the nozzle are some sort of brass or copper alloy as they are not rusted and have a green patina. The hose is a very thick canvass covered type. The casting at the top of one cylinder is embossed PATENT No./MAY 30 1911/JUNE 27 1911. The base of one of the uprights has a 1.5" wide embossed copper insurance inspection collar reading: UNDERWRITERS LABORATORIES INC/INSPECTED/SCHARGE FOR HAZARDOUS FLUIDS/INSTALLED AND MAINTAINED THIS DEVICEIN'ACCORDANCE WITH UNDERWRITERS RULES/AVOID SPILLAGE AND EXPOSURE OF FLUIDS US/INC FIRE OR FLAME IN VICINITY NO.21030.Cash on collection please.Collection only, any questions please ask.
