We were very excited to acquire this set, and think it is something quite special, and am sure it must have been by one of the better silversmiths of the day, anyways, the set comprises of six copper gold gilt matt finish open salts each supported by three silver plated bearded gnomes standing on a triangular base, and housed in a velvet and satin lined oak case with double hinged lids. The set is in good overall original condition, the case has normal some wear and tear from use over the years, the salts themselves have some slight spotting on the inside, and the figural silverplate gnome holders are in excellent condition, with no wear or damage to the silver plate. Each holder measures approx. 2" high by 2-1/4" across, and the case measures 2-3/4" high by 8-3/4" across. The underside of each holder has stamped marks including a crown and owl, and initials maker's 'TL & EM' Please check out our other auctions for more items we have listed.
