BOY COMMANDOS #2 spring 1943, four stories by Joe Simon & Jack Kirby, plus Liberty Belle's second story by Cameron and Winter. This comic book is coverless and missing the centerfold. However, I have made very nice color xerox copies of the missing cover and pages from the copy of Boy Commandos #2 that I have in my collection. Boy Commandos is my long-time nomination for the best series done by Simon & Kirby during World War II. I like it better than Newsboy Legion or Sandman, or even their work on Captain America. It is well written and drawn, timely, gripping story telling, and I would love to see a couple of Archive editions of the S & K Boy Commandos stories from Detective Comics, Worlds Finest, and Boy Commandos comics. This is some of the best stuff DC published at the time, and though I am generally more interested in DC's super hero comics, Boy Commandos is better than most of the hero stuff. This is strictly a reading copy. Not only is it coverless, but, as noted above, the centerfold is missing. The rest of the pages are basically sound and in good condition, though it appears to have gotten damp at some time and t is some fairly minor bleeding of ink, but overall the colors are bright and clear as you can see in the scans. I have, with the color xeroxes mentioned above, assembled a nice, complete, and relatively inexpensive read more
