See the scans. This is an old (pre-1950's) Boy Scouts of America contest medal. This one is for FIRST AID and is "gold"with a blue ribbon. T was a whole series of these octagonal official scout contest medals back in the 1920's through the early '50's. The first ones had red, white and blue ribbons, but the BSA switched to all blue ribbons in the mid-1930's. These came in gold, silver and bronze color metal for first, second and third place. These existed for archery, camping, cooking, knot tying, signaling, swimming, wall scaling, fire building, etc. Since the 1950's, the BSA has used a universal scout emblem design for the BSA contest medals. I have always liked the design of this particular medal, which shows two scouts bandanging the paw of a large pet dog. Generally excellent condition. The safety pin on the upper reverse ribbon is loose at one end, w it had been lightly sewn down. NOTE: I am very good about getting my orders out promptly, sometimes same day and almost always within 24 hours. However, lately the U.S. postal "service" has been very spotty. In the last several months, I have had first class insured items take over a month to California and two weeks in New York State. Most are delivered in a timely fashion, but a few are not. NEW RULES FOR 2008 - NO OVERSEAS SALES, CANADA AND U.S. ONLY. Sorry about that, but
