Offered for auction from estate is this Boy Scout Leader's Felt Stetson Campaign Hat. This hat was a gift in the early 1950's from: THE BOY SCOUTS ASSOCIATION / 1347 BASELINE RD. / OTTAWA, ONT. to this North Rose, N.Y. Scout Leader for his outstanding contributions to the Scout Association, and the Boy Scouts themselves. Included in this auction is the original box from Stetson that enclosed the hat, which was then labeled intact and shipped to the Scout Leader in New York State. All provenance is on the box. This box is complete with all flaps, labeling, and also includes the circular cardboard hat crown protector. The hat exterior is leather banded and has a silver badge embossed "BE PREPARED" backed with a green brush plume, and white chin string-lacing. Inside the hat, the leather sweatband is imprinted in gold: OFFICIAL LEADERS HAT / The Boy Scout Association / Ottawa, Canada. Behind the sweatband is the original Stetson sweatband backing paper and the Stetson Size Tag, giving this hat a Size 7. Needless to say, this hat is in Very Good+ condition and complete in all respects and provenance...and well worth your consideration as a centerpiece for any related collection of Scouting memorabilia or hats. I doubt that one would be able to duplicate this kind of find very readily. This item is offered as received, as shown from the estate.
