All items are 1940-50's Boy Scout Memorabilia from the Beloit/Janesville Wisconsin area. These items were from a family member, recently deceased, who was a scout, and continued working with that organization as a volunteer until just a few years ago. The items include a hat, belt, sash for displaying earned badges, a Boy Scouts of America insignia that was perhaps from an outgrown uniform, a heart-shaped 'Be Prepared' pin that appears to be enamalled, a 2004 "President's Volunteer Service Award" pin, an extra bugle patch, perhaps to be sewn on a shirt sleeve--not round, like regular patches, two "Indian Trils Council atches-one for a camporee from 1943? (or perhaps the 43rd Camporee?), the other an Indian Trails Council Civic service award, and a patch from Camp Pyramid. T are 17 patches sewn on the sash, and two books--one on electricity that was approved by HQ for merit badges, apparently, and the other simply a story about Boy Scouts (see photos). The hat has the original boy Scout's name and address in it, along with half a ticket stub to a bleacher section seat for an Indiana vs. Wisconsin basketball game that took place on Sat., Jan 7, 1955 or 1956 and was apparently tucked fondly into the inside seam of the hat w it remained all this time.

The Boy Scouts' Mountain Camp, by Lieut. Howard Payson, was published by Hurst & Co. in 1912, includes four original illustrations by R. M. Brinkerhoff, but unfortunately, has some pencil writing and names in it. The spine is starting to separate from the book a bit (but is still at least half intact). The Book of Electricity was formerly a public Library book, stamped "Withdrawn from the Library", and appears to have been last checked out in 1937. It was "Written to conform to the Tests of the Boy Scouts" by A. Frederick Collins, and was publiwhed in 1924 by D. Appleton & Co. Content Chapter headings include "How to Do Electric Wiring", "How to Make a Spark Coil", "The Bell Telephone", and other interesting subjects. It is full of drawings--t is one on almost every page see photo). One of the cutest sections told how to make an electric light scarf pin to wear in a necktie, and it was shown with a charming grinning skull that lit up behind the eyes.

I am not familiar with Scouting items, and don't know what the badges earned were for in most instances. Hopefully you will be able to tell from the photo what they are. If you need more detail, I would be happy to send it to you--just contact me.

Items will be sent out the day after payment has been received, providing it has been made by Paypal or other electronic fund transfer. Personal checks are accepted, but shipping will be delayed in this instance, until the check has cleared the bank, which could be 10 or 12 business days.
