What is being offered now is the Boyd Glass Factory Plate in the color Rubina. It has the outline of the Boyd factory in the middle and the words "BOYD'S CRYSTAL ART GLASS 1992" above the outline, and the words "CAMBRIDGE OHIO" under the outline. These were not made in large numbers, they were made as a souvenir for the people that visited Boyd Glass and also as a collectible for the collectors. This color took some extra work to make. Each piece had to be reheated in a flame to get the glass to get the red highlights. It has green, blue, and red colors in it. Very few factory's made this color due to the extra work, extra cost, and the difficulty in getting a formula exactly right. It was made in December of 1985. The stand in the picture is included in the auction. We are listing quite a bit of Boyd Glass this week and do combine shipments to save you shipping money so make sure to see it all! And the Boyd's never repeated a color in any mould so that makes Boyd Glass highly collectible. The Boyd Factory and showroom are still open and selling inventory. They invite you to visit their website. HOWEVER, in recent months the Boyd's have removed the Boyd Diamond B logo from all of their moulds. They also sold all of the moulds to another glass maker in the USA. Since they took the logo off of the moulds, and the Boyd Diamond B

I worked at Boyd Crystal Art Glass in Cambridge for a number of years. I was employed there from about 1979 to 1987. For those of you that came to the Boyd Glass factory in that time period, I was the tall, thin, mustache faced, 20-something year old that worked in the factory. If you took the "tour", I was probably the employee working on the production line that explained the glass process to you while you watched us work. I truly enjoyed my time with the Boyd's. The time I spent at Boyd Glass is a memorable time in my life that I will not forget. I still count the Boyd family among my friends. I told my wife that the glass I purchased while employed at Boyd's and since then would be sold to help pay for our two daughters college educations and even though they have both graduated, we will be paying off the debt for some time to come and my wife is making sure that I keep to my plan. I will be putting some of the items I purchased up for sale on Ebay. I have a lot of older Boyd pieces, and some of the newer ones. I will be putting them on as I unpack them from the boxes I stored them in, or take them off the shelves in our home, find them at sales or get them at the Boyd factory. They will not be in any particular order. These will all be first quality Boyd Glass, with no cracks or chips, and will make a great addition to any collection. If any of you remember me from Boyd's, please bid on this and help my daughter's college fund.
