You are bidding on a beautiful vintage Bradley and Hubbard cast iron parrot doorstop. It is not signed and t are no markings of any kind. The only paint on the doorstop is the orange on the parrot's beak which is painted on both sides. I do not know if the remainder of the bird or doorstop ever had paint since t is no evidence of paint anyw else, nor does it look like it was ever stripped. It appears to have its original finish. It is extremely heavy, weighing between 6 and 7 pounds. It is 7 7/8 inches tall by 6 7/8 inches wide at the base. The round part around the parrot is 5 5/8 inches in diameter. The parrot is 1 1/2 inches wide by 4 3/8 inches tall. The parrot and base have great detail with an incised diamond design on the top of the base. The stops are missing, but the back of the base has 2 small holes w the stops originally were. The doorstop is in perfect condition with only one minute chip on the top corner edge of the base, which looks like it happened a long time ago. Also, the bird is not parallel with the base. It is slightly turned to the left as though someone tried to tighten it at one time. The base screw hasn't been touched in a long time and is very tight. I didn't want to try to turn it, but I would guess the bird could be straightened. This is exactly as I got it many years ago. If you collect Bradley and Hubbard or cast iron doorstops, this would make a wonderful addition to your collection. Payment to be made within 10 days from the end of the auction. Paypal or money order only please. Please email zip for shipping quote. Also email for foreign rate. Thanks and good luck.
