COPPER AND BRASS
H.POMMIER - BRUXELLES
Belgium ca. 1910
Attributed to Gustav Serrurier-Bovy, born in Lüttich
in 1858. The design of this set was realised in 1910
in Antwerpen, Belgium.
Gustav Serrurier-Bovy was the most important Art Nouveau
artist of Belgium after Henry van der Velde.
This oustanding handmade tea/coffee set is a truely beautiful
piece of early twentieth century metalwork. The
copper reflects a unique and dazzling light that
combines wonderfully with the brass handles and
edgings. The spout of the large pot as well as the
acorn-shaped lid decorations, are also made of brass.
An exceptional four-piece set that could still be brought
to use without losing its antique charm.
Considering the age of the set, it is in very good
condition. T are some noticeable signs
of use and a few minor dents.
