Brass bound 19th c mahogany jewelry box with it's original red velvet and leather interior. Dating to around 1840, the original octoganal brass escutcheon and brass surrounds envelope a rich mahogany box. The removable jewelry tray lined in red velvet has eight compartments and a ring slit. Below the tray is an additional storage area all kept safe with working brass lock and key.
